Curacao Clean-up Day
Ten volunteers from the U.S. Forward Operating Location participated in the annual island-wide Curacao Clean-up Day effort, Sept. 20, 2014. The community effort was accomplished in partnership with 50 students from the International School. Volunteers spent several hours clearing debris and picking up trash in the area of Marie Pompoen, near Sea Aquarium and Mambo. The purpose of the Clean-up Day was to help preserve and protect the island by keeping Curacao beaches beautiful, clean and safe for all to enjoy. Personnel from the USFOL often donate time and resources to various programs on the island in order to express appreciation for the hospitality they received from the citizens of Curacao.
