PANAMAX PAMAMAX Combined Forces Air Component Group Photo
Service members from twelve different nations gather together for a group photo prior to the start of PANAMAX 16 at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz., July 28, 2016. A total of nineteen nations will join the United States for a seven-day exercise simulating the defense of the Panama Canal, a vital waterway, and the surrounding region against threats from violent extremism. The exercise will test the multinational coalition on command and control of sea, air, cyber and land forces, as well as their ability to provide humanitarian relief. The goal of PANAMAX is to increase the ability of nations to work together, enable assembled forces to organize as a multination task force, and test their responsiveness in combined operations.
